Tattered Angels mists and paints？work well on many surfaces and are mixable with structure pastes and other mediums. Depending on the Tattered Angels paint you choose， you can cover surfaces， add shades of color or decorate your projects with a nice touch of glimmer.Crew member Kerstin-Inga Peters shows us how to upcycle a wooden fruit crate and turn it to a vintage washi？ tape storage . She beautifully used Tattered Angels paint to stain the wooden crate and give it an old fashioned look.
“；Some weeks ago a friend asked me： ‘；Do you need some old fruit crates， you can always use everything.’；？I have taken these crates with me and saw the word ‘；WANTED’； in an old magazine and a new idea was born.？I’；m always on search to add to my washi tape collection and so I decided to make a new (old) practical storage， where I can hang up my tapes. I love the fact that it’；s made of wood and has this usedaccent pillow case baby burlap floor， time-worn look.”；personalized graduation frames
Tools used：Scissors， gimlet， brush， water in a spray bottle
Step 1？ -Drill four holes for two wood rods in the side walls； use a gimlet and push the bars through.
Step 2 -Darken the wooden crate with brown wax， however as “；the wood grain remained visible I added spray and splatters with some colors to the surface using the half-spray technique to create an altered background spritz water to let them move around. For a more time-worn effect， I used a crackle stamp，“； says Kerstin.
Step 3 –； Tear the cardstock to get a？distressed look？and slightly roll up the top end.
Step 4 –； Distress all the edges， use a stencil with white gesso； dry it with a heat tool， so you will get a structure with more dimension. Glue the word WANTED (you can also use the backgound paper from Canvas Corp ‘；Boots and Saddle Words on Ivory‘；). For some highlights (altered stains) spray and sprinkle Baseboard and Glimmer Mists.
Step 5 –； Cut out your chosen motive and distress the cutting edges， then glue it on the background kraft paper and set it as background into the crate.
Step 6 –；？Now it’；s the time to hang all the washi tapes on the metal bars.
Step 7 –； Finally， use some twine to wrap around the crate. To always have her scissors at hand， Kerstin used an old wooden spool as a holder. TIP： Longer rods can be used for holding more？tape rolls？outside the crate.
